Steve Jobs has officially resigned from his CEO position at Apple:
At his own request Jobs will take over as Chairman of the Board. He has also recommended current COO Tim Cook take over as CEO.

Today’s announcement is just one more step, albeit a big and sad one, in a long-planned orderly transition — a transition that no one wanted but which could not, alas, be avoided. And as ever, he’s doing it his way.
Kyle will talk about OS X 10.7 a.k.a. “Lion”, the latest major update to Apple’s desktop OS. Considered the initial major step towards the iPad-ification of OS X, Lion also brings a plethora of other new goodies.
