ACAMUG’s Got a Twitter Feed

October 21st, 2009 in ACAMUG, Site News

We now have an official ACAMUG Twitter account! If you add “acamug” to the list of Twitter users you are following you will get tweets whenever something new is posted on the front page of our web site.

For those who haven’t discovered Twitter yet, it is a free “micro-blogging” service. After joining you can post “tweets” of up to 140 characters which other Twitter users can see and respond to.

Visit the Twitter site for more info.

Testing your theory. It must work – I got here.

Hey, that’s cool. I hope it works for me too.

Unfortunately, I could not get it to work! :(

But this is the idea I would like. A push notification that something new is on the ACAMUG site so I can go visit it in response to the posting.

Dennis, it should work now. Either search for ACAMUG and add yourself as a follower or login to your Twitter account via a web browser then visit http://twitter.com/acamug and you should be able to add yourself as a follower there.

It worked. Today, on my iPhone, ACAMUG appeared in Twitterific. Cool. However I tried to post to ACAMUG from the iPhone and that apparently did not work! :(

Great! For some reason but it took a few days before ACAMUG appeared in the Twitter search results.

Not sure what you mean by posting to ACAMUG from the iPhone. Do you mean you tried to use the web form via Safari? That should have worked.

Well, Yes and No. I think my Twitterific APP brought me to the ACAMUG web site browser and I tried to reply from within Twitterific and it allowed me to type within the ACAMUG browser but when it came time to SEND I could not find the send button. I’ll have to show you what I mean. Thanks.
