Apple announced the official ship date for the next major revision of Mac OS X, 10.6 a.k.a. “Snow Leopard” will be Friday August 28th.
Snow Leopard is light on obvious new major features compared to previous major releases s most of the changes are under-the-hood improvements to reliability and speed. It does sport a shiny new version of the Finder that adds the ability to view icons up to 512×512 pixels in size and restores a few old features such as “Put Back” for trashed items.
