iPhone OS 3.0
- Everything previously announced plus …
- Rent and purchase movies from your phone
- Tethered Internet allows you to share iPhone’s internet connection with your computer
- Oops, sorry. AT&T won’t support tethering so U.S. users are shafted
- “Find My Phone” uses MobileMe and GPS to locate your phone or wipe it remotely!
- Free for iPhone users, $9.95 for iPod touch
- Available June 17th
New iPhone 3GS!
- The “S” stands for “speed”: 2x to 3x faster than iPhone 3G
- New camera: 3 megapixel, auto-focus (yea!), better in low light (2x yea!), tap to focus on an object, capture video
- Voice control, includes dialing but also works in iPod, etc
- Digital compass (needed for turn by turn directions)
- Built-in Nike+ support (for runners)
- Improved battery life
- Available in black or white
- $199 for 16GB, $299 for 32GB
- Available June 19th
The previous 8GB 3G iPhone is available for $99 starting today.
