Mac OS X 10.5.1 & 10.4.11 Updates Available

Apple has just released the somewhat overdue Mac OS X 10.4.11 update as well as a somewhat unexpected 10.5.1 update. Both are available via Software Update in the Apple menu or you can download them from Apple’s Mac OS X Downloads Page. A combo-updater containing all previous updates is available for 10.4.11 (not required for 10.5.1 since there are no previous Leopard updates.)

There are also software updates for iPhoto and some of Apple’s pro apps.

Cautious types might want to wait a day or two and monitor MacFixit.com for possible problems before applying the updates. Or you can be like me and just charge right in, unleash the dogs of Software Update and hope for the best.

New Photo Album: iWork 08 Unboxing!

Taking up the gauntlet thrown down by Dennis a while back, Gerre has graciously sent us photos of his iWork 08 unboxing experience and they are now available for your viewing pleasure in the ACAMUG Photo Library or directly on Flickr if you want to see the photo descriptions.

A.C. Apple Store Closed Until November 16th

When Dennis tried to call the Atlantic City Apple Store at The Pier he was surprised to be automatically forwarded to a different store. Turns out one of Apple’s neighbors in The Pier apparently had a water problem and as a result the Apple Store will be closed for renovations until November 16th. Or at least that’s what he was told was the reason.

Anyway, until the 16th you’ll have to head to the Sagemore store if you need service or you could try Best Buy if you just need to pick up a stock Apple item.
