I’ve made some minor visual and not so minor internal code changes to the site. To ensure you see them clear our your browser’s cache (for Safari choose Empty Cache from the Safari menu, don’t worry you won’t lose any settings) then press COMMAND-R to reload this page.

New RSS News Feed Icon

Look closely at the top/right of the banner at the top of the page and you should see an orange airporty-looking kind of icon, that is the link for the site’s RSS news feed. It used to live as a plain old link at the bottom of the sidebar but its been promoted and given the standard RSS icon. When you click on it your favorite RSS feed reader, or more probably Safari itself, will show you summaries of recent posts to the site. If you drag the link to your favorites bar Safari will display a number after it when there are new posts you haven’t seen.

Sidebar Shuffle

The sidebar on the right has been streamlined and prettied up a bit as well. The new calendar icon in the Presentations section is a link that adds our ACAMUG Presentation calendar to your iCal schedule, if you haven’t already done so previously. The calendar will update automatically as the presentation schedule changes. It should also work with other iCal format compatible applications such as Entourage.

Under the Hood

An update to the presentation schedule plug-in will allow presentation posts to appear a few days ahead of the meeting night instead of midnight on the day of the meeting. The iCal event feed should also work more reliably now as well.

Nothing earthshaking but some definite improvements I think. If the changes seem to have broken something please leave a comment on this post and I’ll take care of it A.S.A.P.
