Google’s Mac Software & YouTube Acquisition

October 10th, 2006 in General

Google’s Mac Software Page

Google has a new look for the Mac Downloads section of their web site featuring links to download Mac specific Google related applications:

Google Earth we’ve already seen demoed but anyone interested in 3D should take a look at SketchUp, a 3D modeling application designed for ease of use.

And there is also an Official Google Mac Blog!

GooTube?

Google has also officially announced their purchase of YouTube, the most popular video sharing service on the Net. YouTube has quickly become the unofficial Net repository for just about any video content you can imagine, from current virals to video journals, old TV shows and concert footage.

Much of the commercial content has probably been uploaded without permission from the owners of the rights to the videos so it remains to be seen what will happen to that once Google takes over. Let’s hope they find a way to preserve it rather than purge it.

You can also convert the the PDF to PowerPoint or Word format. There are three versions available for purchase. Visit their website (http://www.recosoft.com/) for further information.

Products: PDF2Office Personal: Macintosh Version - PDF to Word

PDF2Office Standard forms paragraphs, applies styles, regroups independent graphics elements, extracts images; creates tables; processes headers/footers, endnotes/footnotes and columns/sections automatically - without any intervention.

PDF2Office Standard also provides options for converting or extracting data from a range of pages in a PDF document. You can extract text or images, or convert the entire document to the Microsoft® PowerPoint® or Word format.
