Today Apple announced updated versions of their MacBook Pro lap..I mean notebook computers sporting the recently announced Intel Core 2 Duo processors that are up to 39% faster than previous models. They’ve also added a $59 MagSafe™ airline power adapter accessory so you can use and charge MacBooks and MacBook Pro computers while you fly.
The new base configurations are:
- $1,999 — 15″ screen, 2.16GHz Core 2 Duo processor, 1GB RAM, 6x SuperDrive, 128MB video memory, 120GB HD
- $2,499 — 15″ screen, 2.33GHz Core 2 Duo processor, 2GB RAM, 6x SuperDrive, 256MB video memory, 120GB HD
- $2,799 — 17″ screen, 2.33GHz Core 2 Duo processor, 2GB RAM, 8x SuperDrive, 256MB video memory, 160GB HD
I believe the default RAM specifications have also been increased considerably. The low end model comes with 1GB up from (I think) 512MB and the two higher models ship with 2GB.

Also debuting today is an option for 750GB hard drives for the iMac and Mac Pro desktop models.
