Welcome to the New ACAMUG Home Page!

December 6th, 2005 in ACAMUG

Greetings and welcome to the redesigned ACAMUG web site. Took (much) longer than I expected but I hope everyone likes the results. Expect more frequent and varied updates to the news posted on the site as I drag in other folks to make contributions.

As a first cut at replacing the old BBS, anyone can post comments on posted items. No registration is required just a name and email address. How long it remains that way is dependent on the success rate of the blog spam filters. I can restrict comments to registered members if necessary but let’s hope the Good Guys win this battle.

The meeting schedule (contents not yet determined), membership info and the beginnings of a tips and advice section are accessible in the sidebar on the right, as is post searching and filtering by category. Click on the top banner image to return to the main page at any time. Members with a personal web site can contact the webmaster to have it listed in the sidebar.

Expect the look to be refined as we gain experience with our new hosting environs. I’ve got some nice new features in mind that will appear as I figure out how to implement them (hopefully with the assistance of Collin during this long, cold, boring Montana winter.)

So welcome to the new digs. Not much to see yet but it takes a while for any house to become a comfortable home. Just keep your feet off the sofa (and use a coaster.)

Dave

Long? Yes. Cold? Definite yes. Boring? Not by a long shot.

Hmmm, what could be so interesting during long, cold Montana nights ;-) You were missed at the party last night Collin, especially when we had to fix a PC so we could transfer Quicken data to an iMac. I was on the verge of using phrases a little stronger than “Bah humbug.”

Also have something for you courtesy of Dennis. Will email a copy to you but I’ll need an actual postal address for the original.
